- The Food Council approved a letter to Mayor Frey and the Minneapolis City Council regarding the city’s Land Use Rezoning Study. The five-page letter touched on a variety of recommendations to enhance the support of people who raise food locally.
- In a related action, the council approved a motion to encourage a review of Minneapolis zoning policies to create more food access points to compensate for “food apartheid” or “food deserts” in the city.
- The council heard presentations from both the county and city on wasted food, and then broke up into small groups to discuss the issue.
