North Wasco County School District serves approximately 2,700 K-12 students. It includes three elementary schools, a middle and high school in The Dalles; Innovations Academy, an alternative high school; and Mosier Community School, a charter school with grades K-8.

The district is organized with a seven-member elected board of directors and a board-appointed budget committee. Additionally, the board includes three student representatives. The school board serves the community by its members working with the public as they establish the mission & direction of education. As a public employer, the school board establishes policies that govern the recruitment, employment, supervision, evaluation & dismissal of employees.
