The Police Board has scheduled a special public meeting for Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at 4:00pm. To protect the public’s health in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, and as permitted by Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order 2020 – 07, the meeting will take place entirely via audio conference. There will not be an in-person meeting. The public and media will have access to the meeting via audio conference. To join the conference call at 4:00pm on Wednesday dial 408-418-9388 and then enter the access code 962 181 026 followed by the # key.
The agenda for this special public meeting is as follows:
- Nomination of three candidates for the position of Superintendent of Police.
- Questions and comments from the public. (Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board. To add your name to the list of speakers, please contact the Board’s office at 312-742-4194 or Carisa.Boatman@cityofchicago.org up to 15 minutes before the conference call begins.)
After comments from the public and the meeting is adjourned, Police Board President Ghian Foreman will be available to respond to questions from the media.

Chicago Police Board
The Chicago Police Board is an independent civilian body that oversees various matters of the Chicago Police Department, mainly deciding disciplinary cases involving police officers or members of the department, and nominating candidates for Superintendent of Police. The nine individuals who sit on the board are appointed by the mayor.
If you’re attending a Police Board meeting in person, be prepared to go through security. You may hear graphic descriptions of violent events or loud verbal protest from members of the public.
Remote meetings may be viewed at https://cantv.org/watch-now/ or on CAN-TV, Chicago cable channel 27. The video recordings are later posted on Youtube and previously on CAN TV’s YouTube within a day or two.
